If you are coming to the hospital Leeds General Infirmary is very easy to find being situated in central Leeds; you can find road signs directing you to the hospital all around the city. If you have never been to Leeds before, or do not know your way around Leeds, please have a look at our official Leeds NHS map here. There are extensive maps of the city along with floor maps of the entire hospital for you to plan your journey.Just remember that you want to head for the Jubilee Building, which is part of the complete Leeds General Infirmary complex. For Parents
We have 14 rooms, including family, twin,and single room rooms available. These have shower, toilet, sink, and internal phone. Also in the accommodation, which is situated on D Floor, is a TV room, payphone, kitchen (with microwave, toaster, cooker, hot water geyser, fridge, washer and tumble drier).Please bring with you tea, coffee, milk and food if you want. Dining room facilities are available around the hospital, as are snack items. There is also a super market fairly close by, along with a wide selection of restaurants and cafes in Leeds.
Wards
We have 5 parent and child rooms and 2 adolescent rooms on the ward (which have sofa beds).
We Can Provide...
Nappies, changing items (including creams), towels, bed linen and most kind of baby milk. Please let us know if your child requires any special feeds or diet, but fetch enough to last a couple of days until we can provide for you. We also have bottle warmers, Milton tanks (for sterilisation of bottles etc), baby baths, toys and so on!! If in doubt ring to check.
Breast Feeding
We advocate breast feed milk! Meaning we encourage mums to breast feed if possible and they wish to do so. If required we have several breast pumps to express breast milk, and a fridge and/or freezer for storage. Also we have milton tanks for the sterilisation of equipment.
You Provide
Fetch your child's own clothes and toiletries. If you wish to fetch your own nappies and some toys please feel free to so. Be warned about your belongings however, unfortunately things have be known to go missing. Please bring with you ALL you child's medication.On arrival you will be asked information about your GP and health visitor and your contact telephone numbers (including mobile), please bring the details with you.If you think of anything else just contact us on 0113 392 7110
